Their very first product was a specialized cleaner, the GC2100, which was effectively designed to clean surfaces contaminated with the virus. The name CL17 was inspired by the fact that chlorine is the 17th element on the periodic table, symbolizing the core focus of their brand on cleaning solutions.

As the story of CL17 unfolded, both Peter and Jay utilized their extensive backgrounds in the automotive refinish industry. Faced with rising product prices and shrinking profit margins, they sought alternative avenues for expansion. They ultimately discovered a niche in consumable products that required little to no opinion, which opened up new possibilities for their business.
